Seven oval cabochon cut emeralds totaling 29.58ctw anchor the symmetrical composition of this antique Art Deco platinum brooch. A large central emerald is flanked by angular diamond-set openwork, with three smaller emeralds grouped at either end. The emeralds’ rounded domes contrast with stepped platinum scrolls and straight baguette cut diamonds arranged in vertical rows. Round brilliant cut diamonds trace the geometric framework, bringing the combined diamond weight to 1.48ctw. Strong symmetry, open spaces, and the contrast of green gemstones against bright white metal express the architectural character of Art Deco design. The reverse reveals open-backed emerald settings and the individual diamond mounts, with a long hinged pin and safety catch securing the brooch.
