Vintage 18k Yellow Gold Jadeite Carved Dragon Pendant

A curling dragon winds through scrolling ornament in this vintage carved jadeite pendant, mounted in 18k yellow gold. Crosshatched scales define the creature’s sinuous body, while flowing tendrils and deeply carved curves give the composition a sense of movement. Small pierced openings separate the overlapping forms, adding depth to the broad plaque. The jadeite shifts from pale green to warmer yellow-green areas, with translucent passages revealing details of the carving through the stone. Small gold prongs secure the perimeter within an open-backed frame decorated with diagonal grooves and sculptural folds visible on the reverse. A polished gold bail connects through a linking ring, allowing the substantial plaque to move independently beneath the suspension.
