Four trillion cut sapphires totaling 1.28ctw form the arms of a cross in this vintage 13k yellow gold pendant. Their points face inward toward a 0.14ct square step cut ruby, bezel-set on the diagonal at the center. Four round brilliant cut diamonds totaling 0.1ctw occupy the spaces between the sapphires in individual round bezels, contrasting with the angular colored gemstones. Broad gold bars frame the sapphires’ outer edges, while the open-backed mounting reveals the gemstone pavilions and pierced supporting framework. A polished, tapered bail connects to the pendant through a rounded suspension loop.
