Mikimoto Platinum Akoya Pearl and Diamond Ring

A 7.5mm Akoya cultured pearl centers a broad lattice of diamond-set platinum in this Mikimoto ring. Three parallel rows of round brilliant cut diamonds are joined by diamond-set crossbars, creating rectangular openings across the face and shoulders. Larger diamonds punctuate the intersections, giving definition to the geometric framework, with the diamonds totaling 0.99ctw. The pearl rises above this openwork arrangement, its rounded form and soft luster contrasting with the angular grid and bright diamond facets. The substantial platinum mounting gives the composition structure while the pierced openings preserve a sense of lightness. A blue Mikimoto presentation box accompanies the ring.
