A translucent green jadeite carving centers this vintage 18k white gold brooch, appearing to depict a monkey nestled above a large peach, a composition also found in historic Chinese jade carvings. Rounded facial features, curled limbs, and scrolling contours give the animal a compact, animated pose, contrasting with the broad surfaces of the fruit below. A diamond-set frame follows the carving’s irregular outline, widening into a geometric crest with paired scrolls, bezel-set round diamonds, and baguette accents. Fine milgrain defines the white gold borders, while a pear cut diamond finishes the lower point and a small bezel-set diamond accents the carving itself. GIA Jade Origin Report #54210854 identifies the jadeite as green, translucent Type A jadeite of Burmese (Myanmar) origin, with no indications of dye or impregnation. An open reverse reveals the carved underside, and a horizontal hinged pin with a locking catch secures the brooch.
