These very special pierced earrings are from the "Diana, Princess of Wales Collection" released in 1999 and hard to find today, let alone in the original red "Lady Di" princess box. The 14K gold earrings are a limited edition pair numbered #65 of 500 with a simulated seed pearl decorating each one. These special pearls were taken from the elegant "Princess Dress" of cream pleated silk that Princess Diana wore two events. These beautiful earrings are in their original, mint red leatherette box with brass tipped corners and special white satin lining stamped with a gold, Lady Di monogram and crown. (Please see photos that are part of the description.) In 1999, the International Gem & Jewelry Show transformed the pearls on her dress (with the Princess's family's approval) into a limited number of pieces of jewelry to benefit the charities Diana supported. They were purchased at the International Christie's Auction in 1997 and come with the original receipt, brochure and original box where they have been since being acquired. A certificate of authenticity and mounted color photos of the Princess wearing the dress come with the purchase. Please note that the earrings' golden crown design incorporates hearts to commemorate the princess who was known for her loving and generous heart.
