Graduated marquise-cut diamonds form the central row of this vintage platinum ring, framed above and below by curved bands of baguette-cut diamonds. Five upright marquise stones increase in size toward the center, while a horizontally set marquise at each end completes the tapered composition. Polished settings cup the pointed tips, and open spaces between the central row and outer borders give the broad face an airy structure. The baguettes follow the contours of the band, their linear step facets contrasting with the brilliant faceting of the marquise diamonds. An open gallery reveals the individual stone settings beneath, while the shoulders merge into a smooth shank.
