A 16.59ct oval cut citrine anchors this Victorian pendant, framed by seed pearls and a rounded oval surround covered in translucent burnt-orange enamel. Mounted in 19k yellow gold, the gemstone is secured by decorative prongs at its upper and lower edges, with a continuous pearl border tracing its outline. Four flared, pearl-set gold accents bridge the open space between the central setting and the enamel surround, dividing the composition into balanced quadrants. Dating to approximately 1850–1880, the design reflects a Renaissance Revival influence, its prominent colored gemstone, pearl ornament, and pendant drop recalling the Tudor-inspired jewels associated with Holbeinesque design. A pointed, lozenge-shaped enamel drop hangs beneath the frame, with pierced details surrounding a central bezel-set pearl. The elongated enamel bail and lower drop are both articulated, allowing movement at either end of the pendant. An open reverse reveals the citrine’s pavilion and the gold framework supporting the layered composition.
