Antique Gold & Silver Edwardian Aquamarine Diamond Pearl Cameo Brooch

An aquamarine cameo carved with the portrait of a woman centers this Edwardian pendant brooch, mounted in silver-topped 12k yellow gold. The face is framed by flowing hair and a crown of roses, with the raised carving standing above a pale blue ground finished with tall faceted girdle. Old European cut diamonds totaling 0.48ctw alternate with cultured pearls around the cameo within an open oval framework. Rose cut diamonds embellish the ribbon bow above, the tied foliate ornament below, and small graduated accents at either side. The bow and garland motifs reflect the delicate decorative vocabulary of Edwardian jewelry, while the layered construction gives the piece a pronounced dimensional profile. A hinged brooch pin and pendant fitting on the reverse allow it to be worn in either form.
