An elegant Edwardian diamond filigree brooch, crafted in silver over 13K yellow gold and dating to the early 20th century. The elongated oval form showcases the delicate openwork construction and intricate geometric design characteristic of the Edwardian period, with fine beaded detailing framing the diamonds throughout.
The center is vertically set with three Old European cut diamonds, surrounded by an elaborate arrangement of additional Old European cut diamonds. A border of smaller rose cut diamonds completes the design, creating the soft, romantic brilliance associated with antique hand-cut stones.
The brooch contains approximately 1.70 carats total diamond weight, comprising three central Old European cut diamonds totaling approximately 0.47 carat, twenty-two additional Old European cut diamonds totaling approximately 0.93 carat, and thirty-one rose cut diamonds totaling approximately 0.30 carat.
A beautiful example of turn-of-the-century craftsmanship, combining intricate openwork, antique-cut diamonds and the distinctive silver-topped gold construction found in fine jewelry of the period.
