Six oval cabochon cut opals totaling 0.24ctw form petals around a central diamond in this antique Edwardian 12k yellow gold ring. Their blue, green, and orange play of color contrasts with three transitional cut diamonds totaling 0.09ctw, positioned at the center and either side of the floral cluster. Shaped gold prongs cradle the opals, while the raised setting forms a scalloped, crown-like profile above an open gallery. Dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, the compact flower motif reflects the delicate botanical designs favored around the turn of the century. Smooth, tapering shoulders meet the cluster beneath its outer diamond accents.
