14k White Gold Precious Chocolate Mexican Opal and Diamond Pendant Brooch

A freeform precious chocolate mexican opal measuring 38 x 16mm forms the sculptural center of this vintage 14k white gold pendant brooch. Its brown body displays flashes of red, orange, green, and blue across a polished surface with pronounced, undulating curves. Substantial prong-set round brilliant cut diamonds follow the opal’s irregular outline, while diamond-set leaf motifs curl over its edges and extend above the top. The diamonds total 5.13ctw, creating a bright surround that contrasts with the opal’s dark body color. Open galleries beneath the diamond settings give depth to the mounting, and the reverse remains open to reveal the opal. A hinged pin with a revolving safety catch secures the brooch, while a concealed bail on the back allows it to be worn as a pendant.
